Sociology-Criminology Alum Is Research Associate and Volunteer EMT

“I love working in Washington, D.C.!” says Ohio University alum Benjamin Fogel, who recently received his certification from The National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians and serves as an EMT in the Rockville Volunteer Fire Department in Rockville, MD.

Benjamin Fogel graduated in 2013 with a B.A. in Sociology-Criminology and a minor in History from the College of Arts & Sciences.

He is now a Research Associate at CEO Update, the publication that covers news and trends in associations, professional societies and nonprofit organizations. With a special focus on executive careers within these groups, CEO Update delivers exclusive trend analysis and information on new and departing leaders, the latest vacancies and upcoming searches.

Benjamin Fogel“My primary responsibilities as Research Associate are to research, vet, edit and format jobs for our senior level / executive staff job boards, manage customer service and account issues for our 1700+ member database, proof read and copy edit the CEO Update publication every two weeks prior to its print date and represent CEO Update at in-house events and those put on by our parent company, Leading Authorities Inc.

“Working as a team, interacting professionally with others in a business setting, editing my writing, as well as the works of others, and confidence are all skills I can attribute to my time at Ohio University.

“Taking part in a tangible print publication that has a dedicated audience and owning a part of a website that I maintain are all things I enjoy about my job. I also like seeing professional relationships become friendships over time.”
