Sociology-Criminology Alum: ‘I Get to Change Lives’

Amy Nofziger received her B.A. in Sociology-Criminology in 1998 from the College of Arts & Sciences at Ohio University and later earned her Master of Arts with specialization in Leadership from Regis University in 2011.

“One of the best things about my career is at the end of every day I can honestly say I helped someone.

“Whether that is educating them about fraud, warning them about a new scam or helping them feel whole again after a victimization.

“For as long as I remember, I’ve been a helper in life. And with this job, I get to take “helping” to the highest level, I get to change lives.”

Program Management

Nofziger has been with the AARP Foundation for 14 years. She is the Director of Regional Operations for the Income Team, where she oversees program management and operations for AARP Foundation’s field work with particular focus on consumer fraud.

Consumer Fraud Expert

Additionally, she serves as one of AARP’s consumer fraud experts and has worked with many media outlets to raise awareness about fraud and exploitation of older adults.

Nofziger lives in Colorado with her “rockin’ husband of 17 years and two amazing kids, who between them play on 5 basketball teams.” So needless to say most of her time outside of work is spent sitting on a hard bleacher cheering on her kids…but she wouldn’t want it any other way.
