Nobel Prize Recipient Discusses Experimental Economics at Marietta College Lecture, Feb. 22

Vernon Smith, the 2002 Nobel prize recipient in Economics for his work in experimental economics, gives the 32nd annual Milton Friedman Lecture at Marietta College on Monday, Feb. 22, at 7 p.m. in the McDonough Auditorium.

Dr. Glenn Dutcher, who recently joined the Ohio University Economics Department, is attending the lecture. Dutcher also invites colleagues from the Knowing the Future theme to attend. “As a graduate student, I went to his one-week workshop, and I have a lot of respect for what he has done for the field.”

Smith will discuss “On Changing False Beliefs: Two Cases from Experimental Economics and their Economic Implications.”

The free, public lecture is presented by the Economic Roundtable of the Ohio Valley and the Marietta College Department of Business & Economics.
