Glaizer worked as an administrative assistant at Ohio University for 20 years in the College of Arts & Sciences Dean’s Office and in the Central Region Humanities Center.

“Wherever Diana was, there was laughter,” says Vicki Butcher, Executive Assistant for the College of Arts & Sciences. “She celebrated every holiday by decorating the office in an amusing way (often with fun animatronic toys), and she made everyone who came in the door feel welcome.”

Glaizer also worked for ICF international as an office manager, where she was known as “Mom” to many of her colleagues. Due to her gentle, empathetic nature, she was more a sister or mother than a friend or co-worker.

She and her husband, Tom, had recently returned to Athens after being away for eight years, and she was so pleased to be back “home.”

She will be dearly missed by her husband, Tom; her children, Brock Guthrie (Brooke Champagne), and daughter Jennifer Wessel (Ty); granddaughters, Olivia and Evelyn Wessel; and brother, Walter Marks; as well as many, many dear friends.

A memorial service for Diana will be held at Galbreath Chapel on Friday, June 19, from 2 to 4 p.m.
