STAND Against Genocide hosts “Tents for Hope” on Wednesday, April 8, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Howard Hall to bring attention to the plight of the millions who are facing genocide, mass atrocities, and displacement in contemporary conflicts.

Four white canvas tents will be placed on the green, representing various places in the world where populations face these problems. The Arabic Language Student Association will sponsor a tent on Syria and Palestine; the Global Leadership Center will sponsor a tent on Cambodia; Ohio Global Studies Union will sponsor a tent on Nigeria; and Students for Law, Justice & Culture will sponsor a tent bringing attention to the problem of solitary confinement in the U.S. prison system.

Students are encouraged to stop by the tents, write a message, decorate, and explore the “mini city” to learn about these issues. The tents will be sent to various refugee camps across the world to spread the groups’ messages of hope
