Love and Hate | Spirituality, Sexuality, and Race on ‘Empire,’ April 14

The Between Love and Hate theme presents “The Devil Quotes Scripture: Intersections of Spirituality, Sexuality, and Race on Empire” on Tuesday, April 14, from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Faculty Commons on the third floor of Alden Library.

Empire logoEmpire is the new Fox hit that drew 17 million viewers for its first-season finale.

This event is free and open to the public. Pizza is provided after the discussion.

The panelists are Dr. Michael Gillespie, Assistant Professor of Film Theory in Interdisciplinary Arts and African American Studies; Dr. Ayesha Hardison, Associate Professor of English: Dr. Bayyinah Jefferies, Assistant Professor of African American Studies; and Dr. Akil Houston, Assistant Professor of Cultural and Media Studies and African American Studies.
