Embrace Your Inner Tourist: Tips for Study Abroad

Tip # 9: It’s OK to look like a tourist, writes Elizabeth Harris on the OUimpressions site. “Chances are most other people around you will be tourists as well. Embrace your inner-tourist. Take thousands of pictures, do not be afraid to carry around a map, ask for directions, and overall have fun!”

Harris participated in the Politics in Paris program led by Dr. Judith Grant, Professor and Chair of Political Science at Ohio University.

“By this time last year, I was accepted into Ohio University’s Politics in Paris Program. I had my flight booked, I was researching everything and anything about Paris, and Europe in general. My over-all excitement level was through the roof. Studying abroad was the best decision I ever made in my life, and I would give anything to go back again this summer. Here are some tips for first-time study abroad students to make sure you have the best study abroad experience possible!” says Harris.
