Krzic Gets Staff Award for Excellence in Global Engagement

The Staff Award for Excellence in Global Engagement was presented to Dr. Gerard Krzic, Director of the Ohio Program of Intensive English (OPIE) in the Linguistics Department at Ohio University.

The award was presented Nov. 20 at Ohio University International Education Week (IEW) festivities. The Awards for Excellence in Global Engagement ceremony is an annual event that recognizes three particularly outstanding members of the OHIO community who have gone above and beyond in their contributions to international education and cultural understanding.

“I’m very much humbled by this award today,” Krzic said before thanking various individuals from the University and highlighting some of his most notable students.

Krzic was acknowledged for his dedication to international education programs at OHIO, including his history as a Japan study abroad coordinator, a Fulbright scholar and a lecturer at Chubu University in Japan. Ohio University is celebrating its 41st year of strategic partnership with Chubu University.
