The Department of Geological Sciences Colloquium Series presents Dr. Andrew Kear on “Unconventional Politics of Unconventional Gas” on Sept. 19 at 4:05 p.m. in Clippinger 205.

Kear is Assistant Professor of Political Science at Bowling Green State University.

Abstract: Kear will speak about geological, political and policy issues relating to unconventional natural gas production in several western states (e.g. Colorado, Wyoming and New Mexico). He will compare those issues to the ongoing gas boom in Midwestern and eastern states. Although the geology differs from one region to another, the political issues and policy responses tend to repeat themselves from west to east.
