“Today’s students are natives to the digital world, where the main form of communication happens through social media networks,” says the College of Arts & Sciences’ new instructional designer, Laura Patch. “Come to this workshop to learn how you can tap into this social media resource, and learn tips for teaching today’s online students in a way that is engaging and innovative!” Learn how to:

  • Use Twitter effectively for teaching
  • Teach with Facebook and Google +
  • Use blogs, Skype, and Google for student interaction
  • Tap the endless multimedia resources of YouTube and Flickr

“Are you thinking about offering a new online course or wanting to refresh a current one?” she asks. “Please bring your lunch and join your colleagues to discuss new and exciting possibilities for taking your Arts & Sciences courses online!”
