Political Science Alum Appointed to Muskingum County Court of Common Pleas

Gov. John Kasich, R-Ohio, on Aug. 8 announced the appointment of Ohio University alum Judge Eric D. Martin of Zanesville to serve as a judge on the Muskingum County Court of Common Pleas, Probate in the Juvenile Division.

Martin earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the College of Arts & Sciences at Ohio University in 1992.

He received his juris doctorate from the University of Akron School of Law. He is a partner at Allen, Baughman and Martin Law Offices. Martin previously served as Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for Muskingum County as well as Solicitor for Frazeysburg and Magistrate for Frazeysburg, Dresden, South Zanesville and Roseville.

Martin takes office Aug. 13 and must run in November 2014 to retain the seat for the full term commencing Feb. 9, 2015.
