Pickel Gets Kopchick Award for Use of Membrane-Associated Complement Inhibitors by Neisseria gonorrhoeae

Donnie Pickel, graduate student in Biological Sciences and the Molecular and Cellular Biology program, received a John J. Kopchick Molecular and Cellular Biology (MCB)/Translational Biomedical Sciences (TBS) Research Fellowship Award.

He received $15,000 for his project on “The Use of Membrane-Associated Complement Inhibitors by Neisseria gonorrhoeae in Immune Evasion.”

His mentor is Dr. Nathan Weyand.
