After attending the Majors Fair last week, you may feel more confident about your major and have your next couple of years mapped out. You’ve spoken to an adviser in your intended area of study and you’re feeling good about life.

But how do you declare your major?!?

Declaring your major is simple, but it can sometimes feel difficult depending on your chosen program of study.

If you’re declaring a major in Arts & Sciences, all you need to do is stop into Wilson Hall, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. to complete a Change of Major Form.

However, if you’re considering a major in another college, I highly recommend that you make a one-on-one appointment with an adviser in that area because some majors and programs at OHIO are selective, and the process is not as simple as just completing a form. Some require that you meet a certain GPA or have certain classes completed prior to applying. Some are highly selective and some have limited spots available. Some only take applications at certain times of the year.

Run a what-if DARS with your current adviser to see what it would take you to graduate with a specific major in mind, and good luck working toward your goal!
