The College of Arts & Sciences is seeking nominations for a new Notable Alumni Award to recognize outstanding alumni who have broad accomplishments in their careers, a commitment to community service, and involvement at Ohio University.

About the College of Arts & Sciences Notable Alumni Award

“The College of Arts & Sciences’ Notable Alumni Award recognizes outstanding alumni. As part of the 80th anniversary of the college, Arts & Sciences is renewing its commitment to honor alumni who have broad accomplishments in their careers, a commitment to community service, and involvement at Ohio University,” said Dean Robert Frank.

Over the years, the College of Arts & Sciences’ Distinguished Alumni Program recognized the outstanding careers and service achievements of college alumni.

“Unfortunately, this program afforded us opportunities to honor only a few alumni among the many who deserved recognition,” Frank added. “This motivated us to re-imagine a program that would expand the core of accomplished alumni whom we could celebrate for success in their careers, communities and service to the college. We aspired to create a new program that honors more people and encourages engagement among those who desire more involvement with college faculty and students.

“In support of these goals, I am pleased to announce the creation of a new Notable Alumni Award. In addition to recognizing leadership, career achievement and community service, Notable Alumni Awards recognize individuals who make valuable contributions to the college and its departments. Past Distinguished Alumni Award recipients will serve as founding members.

Nominees must have graduated from the College of Arts & Science. Alumni may nominate themselves.

The first award recipients will be honored at a Notable Alumni Award dinner and induction ceremony in the fall.
