After graduation, Ryan McGrath ’14 worked as an account executive with the second largest freight brokerage in the world, where he improved time management skills developed at Ohio University and as well as additional aptitude in communication and organization.
McGrath earned his B.A. in Sociology-Criminology from the College of Arts & Sciences at Ohio University while a four-year starter on the football team.
He now works in outside sales for CCS Construction Staffing.
“I love the competitive aspect of it,” he says.
He goes to construction job sites everyday to talk to construction project managers. He likes to meet all different types of people and see the process of a building’s construction.
McGrath credits a disciplined approach to his studies and his participation in athletics with developing skills in time management, team leadership, and a strong work ethic.
He says it was upsetting to lose his previous job when it was outsourced to Singapore, and he faced a challenge to stay focused on what was next.
Now he is happy to be in his current role handling the Jacksonville, Gainesville, Tallahassee areas in Florida.
