Sandal to Talk about Tolerance, Extremism at United Nations on April 26

Dr. Nukhet Sandal, Assistant Professor of Political Science and Director of War and Peace Studies, will give a presentation at the United Nations headquarters on Wednesday, April 26.

Sandal is working on religious conflicts, has conducted field research in various conflict settings, and is the author of Religious Leaders and Conflict Transformation (Cambridge University Press, 2017).

Sandal’s presentation takes place under the “Prevention Forum” of the United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI), which intends to explore manifestations of intolerance and violent extremism. The presentation, as part of a panel of academics and practitioners working on politics of intolerance on April 26 between 3-6 p.m., with the title “Unlearning Intolerance: Perspectives from 2017.”  The event will be open to public (by registration).
