The Biological Sciences & Biomedical Sciences Research Seminar Series welcomes Patrick Shea, Ph.D., discussing “The Genomics of Human Resistance to HIV” on Monday, April 3, at 4 in Hall 159 .

Dr. Patrick Shea

Shea is a Research Scientist with the Columbia University Institute for Genomic Medicine. He received his Ph.D. in human genetics from the University of Pittsburgh. Following a two-year fellowship in infectious disease, he completed his postdoctoral research with the Goldstein lab at the Duke University Center for Human Genome Variation. His research is focused on understanding how human genetic variation contributes to differences in infectious disease susceptibility, pathogenesis, and treatment.
