Transfer Tip | Registering For A Transient Course: What to Know

I get asked every day if there is a list of schools that we accept transfer credit from.

Ohio University accepts credits from accredited intuitions nationwide. (And we accept a great bit of international, too!).

However, that does not mean that you should just register for and complete a course at another school assuming it will equate as exactly the same titled course here. Before registering for courses at another institution to earn credit through transient study, a student must secure permission from the College of Arts & Sciences.

A catalog and/or course description from that institution is needed to complete the Transient Study Permission Form. Submitting the permission form to the Arts & Sciences Office of Undergraduate Student Affairs ensures that the student will know beforehand about the transfer value at Ohio University of any courses that he or she intends to take elsewhere. Be sure to read through the page and the form prior to submitting to Kristi Conrad at: conradk@ohio.edu.
