Science Café presents physiologist Dr. Brian Clark presenting “Age of Champions: Healthy Aging in the 21st Century” on Wednesday, Feb. 1, at 5 p.m. in the Baker Center Front Room.

Clark, professor of biomedical sciences in the Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine and executive director of the Ohio Musculoskeletal and Neurological Institute, believes that rather than allowing aging to change us, we should change aging.

In his Science Café, “Age of Champions: Healthy Aging in the 21 st Century,” Clark will discuss some of the keys to healthy aging, addressing how we can combat aging on a daily basis. “In order to understand how aging works and the effects of it, we must be proactive,” Clark explained.  “Even those who are young have parents and grandparents who will be in this position one day.”

Science Cafe logoScience Café and Café Conversations are held on Wednesdays at 5 p.m. in the Front Room at Baker University Center. They are free and open to students, faculty and staff. Science Café is a venue for students to share their interests informally during a conversation exchange in a friendly setting. Free coffee is offered to the first 50 attendees, and participants who ask questions will win a free t-shirt.

The Science Café is hosted by Dr. Sarah Wyatt, Professor of Environmental & Plant Biology and Vice President of the Ohio University Chapter of Sigma Xi, and Roxanne Malé-Brune, Director of Grant Development and Projects in the Office of the Vice President for Research and Creativity.
