Psychology Alum Earns Woman-Owned Business Certification

Ohio University alum Jodey Altier ’96 received her Woman-Owned Business Certification, reports the State Journal.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the College of Arts & Sciences.

VIENNA, WV – Local businesswoman Jodey Altier, president and managing partner of Perry & Associates Certified Public Accountants A.C., received her Woman-Owned Business Certification from the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council.

Perry & Associates has offices in Vienna, Marietta, Ohio,and St. Clairsville, Ohio. Altier is in the process of opening a fourth office in the Wheeling area. The firm employs 52 accounting and auditing professionals in both West Virginia and Ohio.

As part of the strategic plan for the growth of her company, Altier formed a forensics division, Perry Forensics LLC, which provides forensic services nationwide for government agencies, police forces, attorneys, banking institutions and federal investigators.

The WBENC is the largest third-party certifier for women-owned, controlled and operated businesses in the United States. The WBENC certification is one of the most recognized certifications of women-owned businesses by public, private, nonprofit and government entities. Achieving the certificate entails an extensive application review process and an on-site interview.

Altier is a certified public account and obtained the American Institute of Certified Accountants Certification in Financial Forensics in 2015. She graduated from Ohio University with bachelor degrees in accounting and psychology. Her career in public accounting began at Price Waterhouse Coopers LLC.
