Chemistry Colloquium | Sifting Through Isobars, Isomers, and Tautomers using Differential Ion Mobility Spectrometry, Jan. 9

Ohio University’s Chemistry and Biochemistry Colloquium Series presents Dr. Larry Campbell on ” Sifting Through Isobars, Isomers, and Tautomers using Differential Ion Mobility Spectrometry” on Monday, Jan. 9, at 4:10 p.m. in Clippinger Laboratories 194.

Dr. Campbell is a Research Scientist with SCIEX.

Abstract: Dr. Larry Campbell (Ph.D. Purdue University) will share some of his experiences from his past twenty years as a mass spectrometrist, specifically his encounters with isomers.  To an analytical chemist, isomer identification and separation present some of the greatest challenges, and also incredibly rewarding science.  Beginning with his undergraduate project on PCB detection in mussels, to his current industrial research separating biologically relevant isomers, Dr. Campbell will discuss how studying isomers helped forge his scientific career.
