Kristi Conrad, Academic Advisor and Transfer Specialist

Advising, for many students, is a crucial and helpful resource for undergraduate success. This is why it is important to have passionate advisers, like Kristi Conrad, to guide students through academic life.

Kristi Conrad is a general adviser in the College of Arts & Sciences, specifically for transfer students. She answers general university questions, college and university requirement questions, questions about majors, and more. And she writes the transfer tip column for the College of Arts & Sciences eNews. While she acts as the primary adviser for a student’s first year at Ohio University, she is more than happy to be a back-up adviser through the student’s college career.

When she’s not advising students, Conrad teaches an Ohio University UC 1900 course, as well as teaching Criminal Justice and Crisis Intervention at Columbus State Community College. She majored in interpersonal communications and health and human services (now known as COMS) as an undergraduate at Ohio University. Later she went on to earn a master’s in criminal justice at the University of Cincinnati, and she is currently working toward her Master of Social Sciences from Ohio University. She says that she loves to learn and teach, her passion apparent when talking about her schooling and job history.

Outside of Teaching and Advising, Conrad loves College Green, exercise, food, and her three cats: Molly, Rudy, and Oliver. She trains as a professional body builder, holds group and personal training, and enjoys weight lifting and yoga. While she is very passionate about bodybuilding and exercise, she states, “If there’s anything I’m passionate about, it’s food!” Her favorite foods include peanut butter (any and every kind) and Mexican food.
