Ohio University’s Tri Beta Xi Phi chapter hosted the annual District Convention on the bricks in Irvine Hall on March 19.

Schools from all around the district were in attendance including Thomas Moore College, Shawnee State University, and the furthest Purdue University North Central.

Undergraduate students from six different Tri Beta chapters presented their research in front of a panel of judges differing by presentation type, oral or poster, and topic of research.

Among the first place winners were Ohio University’s very own Elizabeth Evans (oral) and Caleb Burke (poster).

The afternoon concluded with an exciting lecture by Dr. John Kopchick on “Growth Hormone, Mini-Mice, Football, Dirty Shorts, and a New Drug.”

“Ohio University’s Tri Beta Xi Phi chapter would like to thank all the judges, participants, and Dr. John Kopchick for making this event a great success,” says Rachel Fouts, a Biological Sciences student who is active in Tri Beta Xi Phi.
