The History Department hosts an Internship Fair on Tuesday, March 22, from 2  to 4 p.m. on the fourth floor of Bentley Annex. This event is designed to showcase internship opportunities for History majors.

Summer Opportunities: The department has a number of new internship opportunities to explore as well as opportunities for students to seek internships over the summer. History faculty and advisers will provide an overview of why students should consider internships and of the diverse internship opportunities available, close to home or far away.

Individuals from the Ohio University Library and from the Athens County Historical Society will also be in attendance to discuss some of the more common local internship opportunities. Furthermore, past student interns will share their experiences. Light snacks and refreshments will be served.

Course Credit: The fair also covers the process of how to get course credit for internships.

Professional programs, law schools, and employers increasingly look for extracurricular experience in their applicants. The department recognizes the value both personally and professionally that such opportunities afford and wants to ensure that students are aware of all their options.

History major with any questions about internships, or students interested in the History Department, should contact Dr. Brian Schoen.
