John Swarr, a teacher at the Washington County Joint Vocational School District, is already putting his master’s courses to work in his high school classrooms.

Ohio University’s online master’s degree in English is designed for working secondary language arts instructors who are preparing to teach dual-enrollment—now called College Credit Plus—classes in their districts.

“The coursework has provided me with the opportunity to develop insights, practices and materials that I can apply both immediately to my teaching–and to the challenges of teaching college English courses at the high school level,” Swarr says.

“This program’s online flexibility and its emphasis on developing relevant content for my classes have been invaluable to me so far. If  you are preparing to take that next step in your teaching career, I’m certain it would be hard to surpass Ohio University’s reputation for excellence.”
