Miner on Role of Humanities Research on Teaching, Nov. 7

How does faculty research in the humanities benefit students at Ohio University? What are the many ways faculty bring their research into their classrooms?

The History Department presents Dr. Steven Miner discussing his forthcoming book and the role his research has played in his teaching of his popular course The Soviet Union in World War II on Saturday, Nov. 7, at 10 a.m. at the Third Floor Atrium in Baker Center.

Refreshments will be provided.

Book Abstract: In June 1941, breaking the controversial Nazi-Soviet non-aggression treaty and catching Stalin by surprise, the armies of the Third Reich invaded Russia in a devastating Blitzkrieg, that saw them destroy the Soviet airforce on the ground, reach the gates of Leningrad in six weeks, and fix their sights on Moscow. Hitler’s intention was to raze both cities to the ground and cultivate the rich Russian countryside for the benefit of the German people. The Soviet People were fighting for their lives.
