The Ohio: Sense of Place theme Fall 2015 Field Trip Series commences with a guided look at the massive champion trees that grace the Ridges landscape around the administrative buildings on Sunday, Sept. 27, from 4 to 5 p.m. (with a rain date of Sunday, Oct. 4).

Jean Andrews, who designed Ohio University’s “Trees of the College Green” in the early 1990s, shares stories about the trees and the landscape as they relate to the former hospital based on interviews Andrews conducted with the people who worked, volunteered, or were treated there.

The field trip includes walking on and off the brick road around the buildings, so participants should wear appropriate clothing, including long pants and sturdy footwear.

RSVP: Space is limited to 20 attendees, so reservations are required. Please email Dr. Daniel Hembree, Associate Professor of Geological Sciences, at hembree@ohio.edu by Friday, Sept. 25, with your reservation or for more information.
