Desiree Cotto-Figueroa ’13Ph.D.

Recent Physics & Astronomy graduate Desiree Cotto-Figueroa ’13Ph.D. is a postdoctoral research assistant at Arizona State University.

Her dissertation was on “Radiation Recoil Effects on the Dynamical Evolution of Asteroids. Her Ohio University adviser was adviser Dr. Tom Statler, Professor of Physics & Astronomy.

“My primary research was to study radiation recoil effects on the dynamical evolution of asteroids. I’m currently a postdoctoral research associate in astrophysics at Arizona State University in T obtain more experience as a postdoctoral researcher in order to accomplish my goal of becoming a professor and research adviser. My graduate student experience was a great experience!”

While she was at Ohio University, she received the Ohio Space Grant Consortium Fellowship.
