Alum is New Patent Attorney at Webb Law Firm

Intellectual Property Today reports that the Webb Law Firm added two new patent attorneys, one of them Ohio University alum Brian J. Gallagher ’08, who majored in Chemistry in the College of Arts & Sciences.

Brian J. Gallagher has joined The Webb Law Firm as a Patent Attorney. Brian received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from Ohio University, cum laude, and received his J.D. from Duquesne University School of Law, summa cum laude. As an undergraduate, he conducted research relating to the effect of UV radiation on skin cell signaling pathways and obtained a grant to conduct inorganic chemistry research at the University of Leipzig in Germany. Prior to attending law school, Brian served as an engineer officer in the United States Army, deployed to Operation Iraqi Freedom from 2009-2010 and continues to serve as a Captain in the Army Reserve. During law school, Brian clerked for The Honorable Michael E. McCarthy of the Allegheny Court of Common Pleas, and gained courtroom experience by serving as an advocate for veterans in criminal matters through the Duquesne University Veterans’ Court Clinic.
