New York Times Announces Wedding of Geography Pre-Law Alum

On April 21, the New York Times announced the marriage of Michael Hartman ’98, an Ohio University Geography-Pre-Law major who is now of counsel at a New York law firm:

Dr. Lincy Ann Cherian and Michael Patrick Hartman were married Saturday in the Palm House at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. The Rev. Michael Lopez, a minister affiliated with All Saints Universal Church, officiated.

The bride, 37, will be known as Dr. Cherian-Hartman. She is a pediatrician at Mercy Medical Center in Rockville Centre, N.Y. She graduated from Binghamton University and received a medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada.

She is a daughter of Leelamma Cherian of New Rochelle, N.Y., and the late Mathai Cherian. The bride’s father was an owner of Malabar Hill, an Indian restaurant in Elmsford, N.Y. Her mother retired as a registered nurse from Sound Shore Medical Center in New Rochelle.

The groom, 36, is of counsel at the New York law firm Mavronicolas Mueller & Dee. He graduated summa cum laude from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. He received a master’s in environmental law and policy from Vermont Law School and a law degree from Tulane.

He is a son of Catherine M. Hartman and William M. Hartman of Elyria, Ohio. The groom’s mother is a mathematics tutor for the Elyria city school district and works at St. Mary’s School in Elyria. His father retired as the material, planning and logistics superintendent from the Ford plant in Avon Lake, Ohio.
